Larry was born in Huntsville, and received a bachelor's in chemistry from Auburn in 1982. He briefly worked in pharmaceuticals, and joined Thiokol in 1987, staying approximately 5 years. Since the company's closure, he has worked for the Army propulsion lab. He discusses his beginnings with the program in materials, and how he eventually transitioned into R&D and propulsion support. He discusses how many Thiokol alumni still work at the propulsion lab, as well as his responsibilities in the R&D labs with several notable individuals. He closes by advising youth to participate in the business.
