Phillip Franklin

Phillip Franklin was born in Huntsville, Alabama. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He started his career at Southern Research Institute before he joined Thiokol in 1984. He worked in Independent Research and Development. He was a Propellant Research Chemist who worked in the Propulsion Group as a part of the Formulation Team. He admired the strong safety culture he observed at Thiokol during his tenure. He left the company in 1990.
