This 8x10 photograph shows Major General John Bruce Medaris, Dr. Wernher von Braun, Eberhard Rees, [seated] Willi A. Mrazek, Dr. Walter Haeussermann and Dr. Stuhlinger [standing] with a model of the Explorer I satellite. These individuals at ABMA were primarily responsible for the launch of Explorer I, the first US satellite.
