This mode will be used by NASA for transporting the Orbiter from the West Coast to the Kennedy Space Center, and for carrying the Orbiter up for approach and landing tests which will be conducted at the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base, California, during 1977."
