Biographical / Historical

Apollo-Soyuz, jointly carried out by the United States of America and the Soviet Union in July 1975, was the first international space mission. Using a jointly designed, U.S. built docking module, the United States’ Apollo Command and Service Module and the Soviet Union’s Soyuz capsule docked in space; this historical event was televised.

The mission is considered a mark of the end of the Space Race.

Processing Information

Collections are processed to a variety of levels, depending on the work necessary to make them usable, their perceived research value, the availability of staff, and competing priorities. The library attempts to provide a basic level of preservation and access for all collections as they are acquired and does more extensive processing of higher priority collections as time and resources permit.
