Production Illustration: The Techniques and Applications of Perspective Engineering Drawings, 1945, 1945-07-01T00:00:00+00:00
Scope and Contents
Document Type: Textbook (Technical)
Purpose: Training & Education
Authority: Author Expertise
Scope: Textbook which details the rapid increase in technical illustration due to many factoers, especially war production. Author used his experience at Douglas Aircraft Company as a foundation. From Preface: "The widespread adoption of perspective illustration as a medium of engineering presentation has been so sudden, and its application so varied, that from many quarters a demand has arisen for an exposition of the principles and techniques which have been confirmed by actual industrial usage. By presenting them in this book for the study and guidance of technical illustrators, production plants, specialized training classes, and schools and colleges, it is my intention to integrate the various forms and processes of production illustration so that trends now divergent may be directed, in some measure, along secure channels. It is hoped that this effort will aid the universal acceptance of production illustration as the significant engineering language which it has proved itself to be."
