Abstract
The legal papers concern a case, involving John Brahan and William Atwood (Merchants of trade and the complainants in this case) and William G. Gilbert, defendant. It looks to be about a deed of trust that Philip A. Foote exchanged to William F. Taylor, who is the agent and trustee for Gilbert. It appears as though Gilbert was trying to have the deed of trust exchanged unto him instead of Taylor. The case was brought before the judge of Wilkes Co., Benjamin Porter. Porter adds at the end of the document that Gilbert came before him and claimed that the information agaisnt him is beleived to be true.
