Abstract

There is a description of this photo on the back: "An excellent view of a portion of the United States and Mexico, as photographed from the Apollo 16 spacecraft at a distance of 18,000 mautical miles from Earth. There is much heavy cloud cover. The Southwestern area of the U.S. is clearly visible. Most of the coastal outline of the U.S. can be seen. Two Great Lakes, Superior and Michigan, stand out in this picture."
