Abstract

A geophysical research satellite expected to survive in space for several million years passed scientific testing recently at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center preparatory to a May launch from the Western Test Range. LAGEOS (For Laser Geodynamic Satellite) is expected to be of significant aid to scientists seeking to predict earthquakes. ...The LAGEOS project is managed for NASA's Office of Applications by the Marshall Space Flight Center.
