General

The consulate informs LBG that Annie's relationship to Otto and family as first cousins is not sufficient as they are not closely related to insure that the Otto Marx family will not become public charges (close relatives include spouces, parents, grandparents, siblings, and children). Therefore they must have a trust fund of $2,000 per person ($6,000 total) as insurance. December 1940 mentions that 15,000 Jews from Germany were placed in concentration camps in France and only allowed to bring a suit case of their belongings. LBG deposit of $6,000 to the Rison Bank in Huntsville required for the Otto Marx family and has them send the receipt to the consulate in Germany and lets Otto know. In addition he sends to the American Export Lines a check for $1,050 for the family's transportation.
