General
$250 to the National Committee for Labor in Palestine, $300 to Council Against Intolerance in America, $75 to American Red Mogen Dovid for Palestine, Inc., $200 B'nai Brith International Youth Services Appeal, $200 to the National Jewish Welfare Board, $600 to Joint Defense Appeal. A special appeal came from UJA that during the High Holy Days (the ten days of remembrance) requesting congregations and other places of Jewish assembly hang posters to alert all as to the global Jewish needs. Of interest is that notice was made that national radio hook-ups would be made and that Al Jolson had undertaken to make a special radio transcription featuring High Holy Day music for use by local radio stations with community publicity campaigns.
