Requests for funds from a number of agencies and organizations, UJA correspondences, Oct.22 document was received from UAH with information that the US goverment was allowing entry of a number of refugee children, Jewish and other from France and asking that private agencies help with transportation, housing, medical needs and education. The Joint Distributions Committee appropriated $2,000,000 for these children. Other U.S. organizations participated in resettling these children, also Canada and the Central and South American countries. A list of the contributions for the year. $1,137.50 from the Jewish community, $126 from Huntsville Arsenal and the Redstone Plant and $217.50 from the Huntsville non-Jewish community. Total received for the year $1,582.50 and distributions.
