Oscar Goldsmith, Lawrence's father, established a business for his son-in-law, Edward Grosser, and his son, Lawrence. Lawrence and Edward worked together for about 8 years from the time LBG returend home from business college until around 1908 when Lawrence went to work for I. Schiffman & Co.
