General

Daniel Schiffman was born on January 1, 1842 and died May 16, 1892. Born in Hoppstadten, Germany and died on West Holmes at his home. He immigrated when he was 16-years-old. Served in the Confederate army during the Civil War. Lived for a while in Paris, Kentucky. Moved to Huntsville in 1868 and was a merchant. Was a founding member of Congregation B'Nai Sholom. Was a member of the City Council, 1881-1882. Buried in Maple Hill cemetery.
