Original written in German handwriting with typed English translation.

"I the undersigned declare herewith that Morris Bernstein born at _____ did serve as an apprentice under me for one year from Nov. 26, 1843 to Nov. 26, 1844. During this time he was an industrious and true worker - for aptness to such extent that I can recommend him to any of my collegues to further promote his learnings.

As for being true I sign this with my handwriting and Seal.
